America is rushing headlong into another election year, but something is wrong – the polls don’t match reality. It’s up to cybersecurity super sleuth Frank Adversego to find the Black Hats who are trying to hack the presidential election, and stop them before they do.

The action begins when a nameless government agency recruits Adversego to find out who’s manipulating the polls, but he soon learns that the voting results are at risk as well. From then on, it’s a race against time to see who will stop who as the presidential election – and Adversego’s life – hang in the balance.

In this latest Frank Adversego thriller, you’ll meet a scheming Native American casino manager, a scrum of presidential candidates too incredible to be believed anywhere outside of a real American election, a former Secretary of Defense who will stop at nothing, and an attractive French hitchhiker that Adversego rescues in the middle of a desert, and soon wishes he hadn’t.

The Lafayette Campaign provides a satirical take on American politics and our infatuation with technology that will make readers pause and wonder: could this really happen?

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Andrew Updegrove’s second Frank Adversego thriller is alarmingly timely. If you’ve been wondering just how the cartoon characters who purport to represent our interests are planning to get elected, I strongly recommend this thoroughly enjoyable, slightly terrifying, read.

This book, like the first, is extremely well-written, timely, witty …. and scary. Could it happen? The theme of The Alexandria Project seemed unlikely…until it happened. Read The Lafayette Campaign to find out what may happen in 2016!

I won’t give any spoilers but suffice to say that there are enough twists and turns here to make you dizzy. This is seriously accomplished stuff and deserved of a vast audience. A touch of the Bourne that I cannot recommend highly enough.

Mr. Updegrove delivers yet another timely story given the current ramp-up to the U.S. elections. As with the Alexandria Project, the Lafayette Campaign is highly entertaining, informative and downright scary as we learn more about how increasingly vulnerable we are when it comes to cybersecurity.

Updegrove manages to tell a great story with enough well-thought out and plausible details in it to avoid distracting technical readers, while keeping the attention on the plot and the personal relationships in it. For our hero Frank Adversego there are real personal relationships, and for American readers the scenario this book illustrates ought to be concerning, given how technically realistic it could be for the coming election season.
