His confidence shattered for failing to save his sister’s life, Detective Jay Rawlings insists he be left alone to live the lonesome cowboy life. But when the woman he once loved, Tess MacLean, returns to his ranch with a killer and the police in hot pursuit, Jay suddenly has to face the demons from his past. A past he would change if he could – starting with convincing Tess that their love deserves a second chance.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I finished Shattered about a week ago and am still thinking about it. It was that good. The struggles between Jay and Tess. They had loads of reasons to stay away from each other, but Ms Kelly deftly shows us the reasons why they can’t stay away from each other. The suspense part of this story had me trying to guess the bad guy from the start, and with loads of twists, I had a great deal of fun, and no, I didn’t get it right. This writer knows how to tell a tale.

This book was a delight to read. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. You really get a sense of the characters intense feelings for each other. This is one book that I will definitely re-read! Looking forward to reading the other titles by this author!

I loved this book! The entire time I was trying to guess who the killer was! The romance was there, the mystery kept me interested and not able to put the book down!

Having spent time in South Dakota, I was interested in a novel set in that area. The author combines suspense, romance, and an authentic location for all the action. I kept trying to guess who the killer was and kept getting surprised until the very end. If you like romance and mysteries combined, give this book a try. How can you miss?

About The Author

Growing up in New Brunswick, Canada, Kate Kelly had long red braids and freckles. Ah, you say, Anne of Green Gables. Not quite. Sunday mornings, outside the church they both attended, Mary Grannan, the author of Maggie Muggins, would greet Kate with, “Good morning, Maggie Muggins. How are you today?” Bedazzled by the wonderful, outlandish hats Mary Grannan wore, Kate doesn’t remember what she replied on those occasions. Kate has had a life-long love affair with books, but writing came in fits and starts. She didn’t take it seriously until her forties. Now she can’t get along without it. She has the good fortune to still live on the east coast of Canada with her husband (the children have flown away). She writes, grows herbs and perennials and sails when the wind blows her way.

Thank you for considering today’s Book Of The Day – Kate Kelly and ENT appreciate it.
