Genre: Cozy Mystery
Dix Dodd rides again! This time, to rescue her mother.
A resident of a Florida retirement community, Katt Dodd is a person of interest in not only a rash of jewel thefts, but in the disappearance of her boyfriend, Frankie Morell. Dix, the handsome-as-sin Dylan, and the irrepressible (okay, rude) Mrs. P head to Florida to solve the case of the Family Jewels before Dix’s mother gets railroaded.
Of course, hilarious hijinx ensue when Dix goes into the Wildoh Retirement Complex (Motto: We provide the Wild, you supply the Oh!)undercover as Katt’s erotica-writing daughter. Multiply the fun when Dylan gets himself hired as the Wildoh’s newest employee, a slightly dim-witted security-cum-maintenance man.
Here’s what the reviewers have to say:
I loved the first Dix Dodd mystery: The Case of the Flashing Fashion Queen. I think Family Jewels is even better. If you like Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, you’re going to LOVE Dix Dodd.
I absolutely loved this book! The quirky characters kept me laughing out loud. It’s not often that I get to read a book that I thoroughly enjoy, but Norah Wilson manages to deliver in spades!
I was literally laughing out loud towards the end – and at 4am in the morning you know that it’s a good book!! The only problem I have is that I have to wait for the next book in the series – I hope I don’t have to wait long because I’m missing Dix Dodd already!
I really enjoyed the first Dix Dodd book, and wasn’t disappointed with this next one. Norah Wilson, we want number 3 in this series.
Absolutely Brilliant – A MUST Read

About The Author
I was a very precocious reader – I was reading before I started school – and I’ve been reading ever since. As a tomboy, I loved reading action/adventure. Anyone remember the Bomba the Jungle Boy adventure series for boys? Okay, prolly not; they were written in the ‘20s and ‘30s. The Black Stallion books? No? Pity. They were great books. Then I went on to read every Alastair MacLean adventure story/thriller ever written. But eventually, I stumbled on romance and was hooked. With this backdrop, you can perhaps imagine how thrilled I was when romance began to branch out into romantic suspense and adventure. Woot! The best of both worlds.
But for all my love of books, I was well over thirty before it occurred to me to try to write one of those stories I loved so much. The result of that first attempt will never see the light of day, but it was the beginning of a decade-long apprenticeship. In 2001, I finaled in the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart® contest for unpublished writers with a romantic suspense entry. Then I did it again in 2002 and 2003. Also in 2003, I won Dorchester Publishing’s New Voice in Romance contest. The winning entry – LAUREN’S EYES – was published by Dorchester in 2004.
I continue to write romantic suspense and paranormal romance, but I’ve undertaken a number of other projects with a co-writer, Heather Doherty. Heather is published in dark literary, and together we write the laugh-out-loud Dix Dodd Mysteries under the pseudonym N.L. Wilson. We also jointly write YA Paranormal under the pseudonym Wilson Doherty.
I live in Fredericton, New Brunswick, with my husband, two university-aged kids, a Lab-Rottie mix named Chloe, and five rats (the pet kind).
Thank you for considering today’s Book Of The Day – N.L. Wilson and ENT appreciate it.
