Relationships don’t come easy when you’re too shy to love…

Quinn Ramsay is facing the biggest decision of his life, whether or not to sell his hugely successful sports conglomerate. His schedule has been insane for years, an endless series of trains, planes and automobiles. Even so he’s not so sure he wants to give it up. For what, he keeps asking himself. Where would he go from here? What would be his next step?

With those questions in mind, he heads to a friend’s house on Salt Spring, a small island in the Pacific Northwest that promises solitude and uninterrupted time to think and plan.

Not in his plan is meeting Emily Welland, the shy owner of the local bookstore. She intrigues him as no woman has in years–more so when he sees how determined she is to avoid him.

Emily is timid, insecure, and introspective–and she has her reasons. She’s read about Quinn Ramsay, the brilliant and handsome celebrity entrepreneur, and she’s seen pictures of him in the tabloids, always with a stunning model or actress on his arm. She knows he walks red carpets with the same ease that he hosts charity sporting events and fund raisers. His glittering California life is the polar opposite to her quiet, safe, and reclusive life on Salt Spring Island. And when he starts to show an interest in her, her initial reactions are disbelief, fear–and panic attacks. None of which she can control.

All of which makes Quinn more interested than ever.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I really loved this book – so much that I immediately started looking for the other books by this author.

*******

I thoroughly enjoyed this gorgeous romance and couldn’t put it down. The characters sucked me right in, and I loved them, even the secondary characters – so much so that I’d like to read stories about those supporting characters. The novel is well written, characters and plot nicely developed, and the setting is lovely. I will definitely look for more of EC Sheedy’s work.

California man was AMAZING!! The Author does a great job of developing these character and their relationships and she makes you fall in love with both Quinn and Emily. Hats off to EC Sheedy for writing such a great story.

*******

The story was engaging, the characters were likeable and realistic, and the writing was excellent. I also really enjoyed the setting, having visited that area years ago. If you are a fan of romances, I highly recommend it!

I found the writing delightful, characters intriguing and the storyline flowed so well I nearly couldn’t put it down as I so wanted to know where it was taking me. To be honest I’m not really a fan of romance novels but after reading California Man I may be a changed woman. Well done E C Sheedy I look forward to more.

About The Author

I live and write on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. With the ocean a few steps from my door and Zuke, a 110 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback, sleeping on the sofa in my office, I consider myself one very lucky writer. But I have to say that my real luck is being married to Tim, my first and final husband.

I write both contemporary romance and romantic suspense, the latter because sometimes a nasty and conniving villain pops into my head and I just have to get him out.

I blog occasionally, along with some writer friends, on the Pen Warriors blog http://www.penwarriors.com, and I noodle around on Twitter, never quite knowing why.

I have a Website www.ecsheedy.com with most of my books listed, although I have been known to be late with my updates. :-( But if you visit my site there’s some great photos showing the views from my office window–and, of course, a sleeping Ridgeback.

I love to hear from readers and can be emailed through my website or ecsheedywriter@gmail.com

I do hope you’ll try some of my books, and that if you do, they’ll give you a few pleasurable hours.

Thank you for considering today’s Book Of The Day – EC Sheedy and ENT appreciate it.
