Life only gives you one first kiss.

And when Jesse Malone kissed Sarah Ramsey, he thought his life would change, but not in the way that it did. An unlikely childhood romance between a poor boy and a wealthy girl began the day Jesse decided to do the impossible and cross the creek. A love was born, one that would become their shelter, protecting them from the storms of their lives, until the day Jesse witnessed his mother’s murder, forcing him to leave his childhood home…and first love.

Ten years later, life has finally gotten better for Jesse. He has a loving family, a charming pet shop to run, and one semester left before graduating with a degree in architecture. Everything is great, until the day fate intervenes and his long-lost love walks into his shop and back into his life.

Sarah, engaged to a budding attorney, is struggling to keep everything together. Her father, diagnosed with terminal cancer, is running out of time. Sarah races to build their dream business while planning her wedding in time for her father to walk her down the aisle.

Their brief encounter starts a series of events that neither Jesse nor Sarah expects. After a decade of running, Jesse is now forced to face the demons from his past, while Sarah has to choose between her handsome attorney and her first love.

Just when they think love has given them a second chance, Jesse is faced with an impossible decision, one that will change their lives forever.

Hooked on the story from the beginning of the book and found it difficult to put down. So many emotions in the story keep me interested until the last page. Can’t wait for the next book and hope there are many books to follow.

About The Author

I am a husband and the father of four beautiful children. My boys, Chance and Kyle, are my soccer and basketball players, and my daughters, Gabby and Andee, are the readers and artists in the family. By day I work in the world of business, mainly in Supply Chain. When I’m not working, I enjoy nothing more than hanging out with my family. I help coach the boys’ soccer team and watch the latest movies with the girls. But when the kids are in bed, my wife, Brandi, and I spend our evenings catching up on our shows.

Work and family are not my only passions in life. I started writing short stories in my twenties. I wrote for fun with no dreams of actually becoming an “author” of books. My drive for storytelling began when I was a little kid. It was what my family did when we got together for holidays or reunions, and it has stuck with me.

Insignificant Moments is my first novel. The idea came to me the day I opened a chain email. I don’t remember much about that day, but I remember how good I felt after reading that email. I thought, what if an email from a stranger had the power to impact the lives of many people? Then I tried to think of how that ripple could affect the rest of the world. The idea was too big for a short story, so I shelved it. That was until the day that Brandi told me I should try writing a novel. So I did.

After writing Insignificant Moments, I started receiving emails from people, most of whom I’ve never met, telling me how much they enjoyed the story and wanted to read more. Luckily, I had Across the Creek already in motion. And for the past two years, I have been working on this story. I’ve had a blast writing the lives of Jesse, Sarah, Robbie, and Kevin. And I was so excited the day I was able to finally release it.

My next book is Beneath the Willow, the sequel to Across the Creek. This story brings back many of the characters from the first book and a whole new set of obstacles for them to overcome. But I feel this story brings everything full circle.

As much as I enjoy writing, I wouldn’t have made it this far without the love and support of my family and friends. They are the ones who encourage me every day and inspire me to continue chasing my dream.

Thank you for considering today’s Book Of The Day – Jeremy Asher and ENT appreciate it.
