Uptight British lit lover meets a free spirit at a book club and his world is turned upside down!

After placating to his father’s demands that he play Little League baseball and major in computer programming in college rather than his beloved English literature, Thaddeus assumed that several years into his career, he would finally get some peace and quiet.

Then he met Spring Pearson, the younger, free-spirited daughter of Hippie parents, at a book club meeting. Instantly smitten, Thaddeus finally worked up the courage to ask Spring out. But will an old college pinkie-swear promise Spring made fifteen years ago get in the way of this bibliophilic romance?

”A Groovy Kind of Love” is the third and final installment of Karen Wojcik Berner’s Bibliophiles series. Written as stand-alone novels, each book focuses on one or two members of a fictional suburban classics book club, revealing their personal stories while the group explores tales spun by the masters.

This edition contains a Reader’s Guide and book club discussion questions.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

Thaddeus and Spring are fascinating characters who share a love of books. I couldn’t put this one down. Different backgrounds and experiences make their relationship even more special and the story takes a twist that makes them even more endearing.

What a sweet story. I can’t say enough about this book. No life is perfect. But with the right person, you create your own perfection. A must read. And I don’t say it often, but a re-read.

This is a really sweet, engaging book that delves into the lives of the two main characters – going WAY back to give us an idea of how they became who they are in the present. I was really enchanted by the story, and seeing how books can truly make a difference to the people who read them. Another lovely book by this author.

Karen Wojcik Berner has created another winner with her latest novel, Groovy Kind of Love, the third and final book in “The Bibliophiles” series. Ms. Berner’s skillful writing carried me through the pages, causing me to lose track of time and place, which in my opinion is the sign of a damn good read! Loved it!!

A Groovy Kind of Love can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the previous books, but had zero issues with following the story. The description was never too much, perfect really, to root the reader. Great use of active voice and setting and overall stellar writing.

About The Author

Karen Wojcik Berner writes contemporary fiction with a sprinkling of the classics. She is the author “A Whisper to a Scream (The Bibliophiles: Book One)” and “Until My Soul Gets It Right (The Bibliophiles: Book Two),” the digital short, “A Bibliophile Christmas,” and several flash fiction pieces. An award-winning journalist, her work has appeared in numerous magazines, newspapers and blogs, including The Chicago Tribune, Writer Unboxed, Women’s Fiction Writers, and Fresh Fiction.

Unlike most series that follow one character through various adventures, the Bibliophiles is a little different. Each book club member gets the chance to “star” in his or her novel.
For example, the first, “A Whisper to a Scream,” centers on Sarah, a stay-at-home mother of two, and Annie, a PR executive with fertility issues, each of whom thinks the other’s life is far superior to her own. Their story is followed up in Karen’s holiday digital short, “A Bibliophile Christmas.” “Until My Soul Gets It Right” chronicles Catherine Elbert’s journey as she bounces from coast to coast in search of her true self. In the final installment of the Bibliophiles series, “A Groovy Kind of Love,” uptight computer programmer Thaddeus’s life is turned upside down when he meets the much younger, free-spirited Spring.
