“This is a good book for mystery lovers who like a touch of the supernatural, like cozies, or who simply enjoy a well-crafted mystery.” – TCM Reviews

Ten-year-old Angelica is sure her mother didn’t drown by accident. But no one will listen to her — especially not her father and his greedy girlfriend. How can she uncover the truth and expose her mother’s murderer?

Mirabel Townes has her share of enemies. But when the wealthy heiress and lapsed Scientologist drowns in her backyard hot tub one August night, the police pronounce it a tragic accident. Her daughters, who suspect murder, refuse to accept that ruling. Determined to unmask their mother’s killer, they beg grief therapist Cleo Sims, to accept them into her Contact Project that helps people communicate with dead loved ones.

Cleo has her own problems with her provisional teaching position at the university, her grandmother who has Alzheimer’s, and her police-detective lover’s warnings to stay out of police business. She doesn’t need more stress. But she can’t resist the pleas of ten-year-old Angelica Townes, a spiritually gifted Indigo child, or the demands of Tyler, her quirky spirit guide, so she agrees to help solve Mirabel’s murder.

“Although this is obviously a work of fiction her character reminds me of most people I know who are trying to do the right thing but get caught up in distractions and lean on their friends for support. This book was extremely fun to read. I found myself smiling more and more with each page. I was truly sad when I came to the end of this book… not because of the way it ends but because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the characters and the easy to read writing style of the author.” – Amay3

Ever decided to do something that seemed like a good idea and in the second before there’s no turning back think, I musta been totally mental when I came up with this? And, then, Oh, well, here goes.

That’s how Angel-In-Training Grace Lightbourne felt right before she asked the Big Kahuna to go straight to Earth on a mission as a Guardian Angel. The problem? She never was a great student and now she won’t even finish her last three years of school. To make matters worse, Archangel Michael isn’t happy about her special assignment, but Grace is convinced she’s on a fast track to her wings. How hard can it be? She’s working with humans, after all.

“It isn’t often readers can laugh while engrossed in the Supernatural, but when it does happen, often it’s due to Scott Nicholson. October Girls is a laugh-out loud pleasure, geared perhaps to YA readers, but equally hilarious to adults-who can, after all, remember being young!”- Mallory H.

Five days until Halloween and all hell is about to break loose. And it’s all Crystal’s fault. Momma warned her not to consort with the dead and tried to teach her the magic spells that would close the portal to the afterlife. But Crystal doesn’t want to be a trailer-trash witch like Momma. She has dreams of going to community college and escaping the Appalachian town of Parson’s Ford.

Her best friend Bone is only too happy to escape the afterlife and help Crystal break the rules. Bone died too young, and she’ll do whatever it takes to remain among the living. Then a teen movie maker comes to Parson’s Ford, and he has a very special project in mind: a horror movie starring a real ghost. The kids who watch his movies turn into brainwashed zombies. And to totally complicate matters, Crystal thinks he’s kind of a hunk, and she’s afraid her boyfriend Pettigrew only loves her because of Momma’s magic spells.

Now it’s Halloween, the night when the portal to the afterlife is widest, and somebody’s been messing with Momma’s potions. The fate of the world is in Crystal’s hands, but she hasn’t been paying attention to her lessons. And a mysterious figure in the afterlife is urging Bone to stay loyal to her own kind instead of to Crystal. The movie is rolling, the creatures are stirring, and the brainwashed teenagers are ready to welcome a new star from the other side of the grave. Crystal and Bone must overcome drama queens, coffin cuties, and mangled magic if they want to remain best friends forever—but at this rate, forever may not last much longer.

I enjoyed all of Glenn’s books. Race Riot and the other 3 Prison Killer books are shorter reads but give you a good look inside of prison life from the perspective of a man who has been there.
