Beverly Bratton has a safe, mundane life. No drama. No magic. Since her parents died, she’s cared for her little sister Marion and worked at the Tragic Fall Inn. When a fairy’s charm sends Beverly a hundred years into the past-and into the path of a banished fairy prince-nothing will ever be mundane or safe again.

The regent of the Dumnos fae is turning the court from light to dark, and there’s nothing the rightful king, Prince Dandelion, can do about it. The mystical coronation cup which he needs to become king has fallen into human hands. When he meets a human woman with access to the cup, everything changes. Beverly is fascinating as well as useful-but of course Dandelion doesn’t love her.

Love for a fairy is rare. Love with a human, impossible. But when Beverly and Dandelion are thrown together in a battle against both wyrd and fae, they learn that in Dumnos the impossible happens every day.

The good folks at Mt. Zion Baptist are doing their best to keep the church flowing smoothly while Pastor Phillips takes time off to be with his wife in her final days. Beatrice “Mama B” Jackson even opens her home so that the women’s groups can continue to meet faithfully after some “rascal” stole the copper from the church’s air conditioning unit.

With her semi-estranged granddaughter and great-grandson staying in the guest room, Mama B soon has a full house. When the interim preacher and his wife start touting messages that don’t line up with the Bible, Mama B wonders how and if she can intervene without causing strife in the congregation or discouraging the young couple.

However, Mama B can only take so much of this foolishness. Though her own faith might be intact, she can’t have her great-grandson believing that God is a Sugar Daddy in the sky. Soon enough, Mama B will realize that there is much more at stake than she or anyone else at Mt. Zion ever imagined. And it’s time to speak.

Elena Mazur is the perfect wife. Having met and fallen in love with her husband when they were only fourteen, she has dedicated nearly sixteen years to trying to be the woman that she felt he deserved. Now approaching thirty, she gradually begins to realize that she has cultivated a fairly miserable life for herself.

But before she can untangle all of the knots, a devastating accident takes the life of her husband. She flees to a run-down lakeside cottage and struggles with the relief she finds in her newfound freedom and the guilt she feels over the loss of a wonderful man.

And her mixed feelings become even more complicated when she realizes that her husband’s cousin and childhood friend lives across the lake.

While she cannot deny the attraction she has felt toward this man since they shared a passionate kiss as teenagers, she knows that Alec would never forgive her for acting on that attraction. So does she continue attempting to live up to the expectation as the perfect wife? Or does she follow her heart?
