Amazon has just announced that they’ve released the beta version of Kindle For The Web.

Kindle For The Web allows you to read the first chapters of Kindle books for free on your web browser. There is no download or installation required.

To use Kindle For The Web all you need to do is click the “Read First Chapter FREE” button on a book product page on Amazon – or another website that has links to Amazon books – and the first chapter will open in your browser.

You can also change the background color, line spacing, and font size. You can also share books on Facebook, Twitter and email. You can share the books without ever leaving the browser page that you’re on.

Here’s what Amazon had to say about Kindle For The Web:

“With Kindle for the Web, it’s easier than ever for customers to sample Kindle books – there’s no downloading or installation required,” said Dorothy Nicholls, Director, Amazon Kindle. “Kindle for the Web is also a great way for bloggers and authors to promote books on their websites by letting visitors read a chapter without leaving their site.”
