Sometimes going after what you want is the hardest thing you will ever do…

Meet Helen. Smart, successful and obliviously trapped. For the past six years, Helen has given her life and her heart to her cushy corporate finance job and to Mark without question. However as the Recession sweeps the Nation, she is one of many left unemployed and with the burning question of what does she really want in life.

RECESSION PROOF is a debut novel for anyone that has settled in their career and relationship but has discovered that what really matters in life is living it.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I loved this book. It was a great read and I honestly could not read it quick enough. It was so easy to love Helen and all of her little mishaps and to cheer her on while she decided that she could follow her heart and her dreams.

*******

Recession Proof was a book I could not put down, I read this in one night! This book made me laugh, cry, and root for her current love life. I could also relate to how Helen felt about her job. Not only was Helen was easy to relate to, but I was able to connect to her life in many ways. The recession has affect everyone in one way or another. This book dealt with real issues and situations.

*******

This is a fun and engaging character-driven read. This talented new author proves her understanding of women’s relationships with a style that’s both snappy and heartfelt. Women will absolutely recognize themselves and their friendships on the pages. Don’t get comfortable because you won’t be able to put it down!

*******

This is an amazing story that shows the true meaning of living and what really matters in life. I highly recommend this to anyone who ever felt stuck in life.

*******

I definitely recommend reading this book. I think women in general who enjoy a good chick lit book will be able to relate to Recession Proof and enjoy it as much as I did. Then you throw a bit of romance into the mix, and really, who wouldn’t love it? ;)

Inga manages to escape from a “house of terror” where she was held as a captive along with other girls who were kidnapped. She is chased into the woods and runs onto the road, almost falling under the wheels of an approaching car. She thought, it would be better to die that way than to return to her captors. The driver of the car, to her surprise, saves her. He brings her to his house and introduces her to his family: his mother, his father and his younger sister. He gives Inga a key to a separate room and brings her food. She appreciates his help and calls him her knight from the road. All she needs now is a phone to make a call to her mother. Her savior, Alman, says they don’t have one in the house. He’s also not in a hurry to take her from his house in the woods to the town where she can talk to police. And Inga began to doubt the noble intentions of her savior. After some time she starts to think this house is worse than the one she was imprisoned in before, if that was possible.

Here’s what the reviewers have to say:

I enjoyed this book very much. Natasha Salnikova has a talent for colorful description. She paints a picture with her words that will transport your imagination through many emotions as Inga struggles to get out of some really horrific situations. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Supernatural thrillers.

*******

This is the second book that I have read of Natasha’s and I have to say it tossup between the two which one is the best. The tension throughout this book is so overpowering that it leaves you wondering is this all in her mind, is she sane or crazy, will she get out? There is so much to this book. The secondary characters in the book lend just as much credence to the plot as the main characters do. This is one of those books that would make a great made for TV thriller.

*******

The Voice of Waterfalls is a psychological thriller filled with loads of suspense. Natasha A. Salnikova’s writing is excellent and it’s one helluva roller coaster, so hold on! I’ve never read anything from this author, but I will be keeping my eye out for her next novel!

*******

Natasha Salnikova did a wonderful job with the novel “The voice of waterfalls”… I found it hard to put the book down until it was finished and I would definitely recommend “The voice of waterfalls” a good read.

*******

I finished this book in a day. I couldn’t put it down. If you like horror and non-stop suspense…this is the book for you!!

About The Author

Natasha A. Salnikova wrote and hosted two TV shows in Russia. She was a writer for the national prime-time talk show and for national sitcoms and dramas. She also published two books.

In 2001 she made a big decision and moved to America to be with her husband. She had acting roles in TV commercials, shot photographs for a Knopf/Random House travel guide, studied English and kept writing.
Currently Natasha lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with her twins and her husband. She writes feature stories for a newspaper and teaches yoga.

Natasha A. Salnikova
I’ve been writing the majority of my life. I’ve written for newspapers, TV talk shows, and TV series. I’ve also published two books prior to my move to America. Since I moved here, I’ve written a few books in Russian but it’s difficult to publish them there, being in a different country. So, I’ve decided to translate my books even though I still negotiate with a Russian publisher. My first two books are out and about.

Most of my books are thrillers. And their subgenres are psychological, supernatural. I enjoy developing interesting characters just as much as plot, and all of my novels have some level of psychological tone to them. Some people call my recent novel, The Voice of Waterfalls, a horror. If it is, it wasn’t intentional. I think horror and comedies are very difficult to write. It’s very difficult to scare people or make them laugh.

“The Voice of Waterfalls” was “born” in the car. I was driving, there was a car in front of me with one of the back lights flashing the whole way. And I thought, what if there is somebody in the trunk? What if the driver is helping that person, not kidnapping her? What if he’s not what she thinks? The novel was supposed to be about werewolves but I’m glad I changed that idea.
